You're No Longer Wanted In Khartoum-Sudan Govt Tells UN Envoy
Says the Senior diplomat is responsible for crisis.
The government of Sudan has declared the United Nations’ envoy to the embattled country, Volker Perthes, persona non grata.
Head of the country’s Army, Gen Abdel Fattah, al-Harhane, made the declaration on Thursday.
For weeks, Gen Harhane accused the envoy of being responsible for the outbreak of the ongoing conflict between between his troops and those of his rival paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, RSF, led by General Mohamed Hamdane Daglo.
He also called on the World body to remove the senior diplomat who was on a diplomatic mission in Ethiopia on Thursday on diplomatic talks.
It would be recalled that fighting broke out between the two Generals on the same day they were due for a meeting to negotiate the integration of the RSF into mainstream Sudan regular army, as demanded by the UN.
