Although the encounter witnessed a lengthy delay in the fifth round after ring referee ruled that Dubois landed a below-the belt blow on the champion, the latter's victory also means that he has has extended his professional record to a perfect 21 wins from 21 bouts.

Following the delay, Usyk came back forecully into the match and sent his challenger on one knee with multiple blows to the head in the 8th round. It was an indication that curtains drawn was nigh for Dubois.
