Terrorists Burnt 11 Alive In Plateau Village Attack

Suspected terrorists reportedly ran amok as they attacked and set fire on homes and leaving 11 people burnt alive.

The incident took place Tuesday night in Chisu, a rural community in Mangu council area of Plateau state.

The development was disclosed to newsmen in Jos, the state capital, on Wednesday by a member of the community, Michael Bulus.

Bulus told newsmen that the affected villagers ran to one of the houses in the village for safety when the heard sporadic shots being fired by the invaders. However, the marauders pursued them to the house and set same on fire, burning 11 of them to death.

Bulus, who escaped from the village during the attack, added that the attackers also torched a church, located along the Mangu-Bokkos road, after which they set other homes on fire before making their way out of the community.

“Last night, terrorists attacked Chisu village of Mangu local government area at about 11:00pm.

“When the terrorists arrived in the community, there were sporadic gunshots and people started running. Some of them ran to a house belonging to a community leader. Unfortunately, the house was set ablaze by the terrorists and 11 burnt, dead bodies were later discovered this morning,” Bulus said.

“The COCIN Regional church council Bwai, along Mangu-Bokkos road in the local government was also burnt by the terrorists, along with vehicles and tricycles before they fled the community," he added. 

Meanwhile, the state police command is reported to have deployed its operatives to the community.
