State Vigilante Members Kill Three Gunmen Terrorising Anambra Community
About three suspected gunmen who were part of the bandits terrorising Anambra State have been killed by members of the Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG).
About three suspected gunmen who were part of the bandits terrorising Anambra State have been killed by members of the Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG).
The goons were killed around 3.30 am hours on Monday, in Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area of the state, as invaded the camp of the Vigilante members.
The gunmen numbering about 15, invaded the duty post of the vigilante members, thinking they were sleeping, but the Vigilante members responded by killing three out of the 15 gunmen. .
According to one of the AVG members, the gunmen came with AK-47 riffles and different charms, adding that they were wearing their charms on their necks, waists, hands and legs.
“When they came, they opened fire on us without knowing they stepped into the lion’s den. Let them continue coming we are ready for them, nonsense people.” He said
Anambra State Police Command confirmed the incident stating that the vigilante group are working in partnership the State Police Command and other security agencies in the state.
According to the command, the vigilance group would hand over the corpses of the suspects to the command ,including the arms recovered from them.
One of the residents said the villagers constituted a committee because of the terrors of the gunmen stating that decision, has started yeidling results.
