Shaibu Gets New Office Outside Government House
Godwin Obaseki and Rt Hon Philip Shaibu

Away from his old posh office, Edo state Deputy governor, Rt Hon Philip Shaibu, is now to operate from a near nondescript office, outside Government House, Osadebey Avenue.

Located at No 7, along the same Osadebey Avenue, the new office, currently under renovation, was previously occupied and used by the state Public Procurement Agency, commissioned by immediate past governor, Senator (Comrade) Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole.

The coming of the new office, identified by the sign board which reads, Office of the Deputy Governor, is adding a new twist to the ungoing feud between the state governor, Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy.

Sources from the office of the Deputy Governor told Freshnews that there is no communication of the development and so cannot verify the authenticity of the said relocation development.

However, reports say the state commissioner for Information, Chris Nehikhare, confirmed the development, noting that there is nothing wrong with it if, as it is, the deputy governor’s new office is still within areas designated as Government House particularly given that the said building is owned by the state government.

The new development is coming on the heels of a protest move by the Deputy Governor when he stormed out of one of the state government-organized functions to mark the 60th anniversary of the referendum that led to the creation of the Midwestern Region.
