Rivers Guber Polls: Governorship Candidates Protest Over Wike's Intimidation
Governorship candidates of Social Democratic Party, All Progressives Congress, Accord, and African Democratic Congress, in Rivers State on Friday, besieged the State Police headquarters in Rivers State, protesting the alleged intimidation by Governor Nyesom Wike ahead of Saturday’s election.
Governorship candidates of Social Democratic Party, All Progressives Congress, Accord, and African Democratic Congress, in Rivers State on Friday, besieged the State Police headquarters in Rivers State, protesting the alleged intimidation by Governor Nyesom Wike ahead of Saturday’s election.
The candidates are Sen. Magnus Abe of the Social Democratic Party, Tonye Cole, All Progressives Congress, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, Accord and Tonte Ibraye, African Democratic Congress.
The opposition parties also alleged that their members and supporters were being harassed and arrested by security agencies working for Wike and called for the immediate release of all those arrested within this political period.
