Nigerian Troops Neutralize Plateau 3 Bandits
*As they fought through an ambush.
Troops of the 3rd Division, Nigerian Army, deployed to contain the crisis in Mangu council area of Plateau state, on Wednesday, neutralized three Bandits.
This was disclosed by Army spokesperson, Brig Gen Onyema Nwachukwu.
Onyema noted that the troops fought through an ambush laid by the criminal elements and wiped out the neutralized bandits following a distess call in the Mangu general area.
The troops, he added, recovered 3 units of AK 47 rifles,14 rounds of 7.62 mm Special rounds, 1 motorcycle, and a Constabulary Police Identity card.
According to him, the troops are currently on the trail of other members of the bandit group who managed to escape from the ‘firefight’.
In a similar development, troops of the 223 Battalion, under Sector 1 of the Joint Task Force, North West Operations Hadarin Daji, rescued 24 kidnap victims.
The victims, including a child, were rescued on Friday after a shoot-out with notorious bandits at Kabugu Lamba, an abandoned village in Maru council area of Zamfara state.
The troops also neutralized four members of the bandit group.
