Bauchi Police, INEC Deny Attack On INEC Chairman's House In Bauchi
The Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Police, has described a viral video circulating on social media that the Bauchi residence of Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),  Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, was attacked by hoodlums on Saturday, as fake video.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), for the Command, Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, in a statement denied the video and said:

“We categorically wish to state that the video and its content is entirely fake, as no such event occurred within or around Bauchi metropolis, earlier today.

“However, the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, CP Aminu Alhassan, cognisant of the negative impacts of disinformation on public peace, and security, particularly in this our post-election period, has already ordered a discreet investigation to unravel the origin of the video, with a view to ensuring that the fabricator of the viral clip face the full wrath of the law.

“Once again, the Bauchi State Police Command reiterates that there was no attack of any nature on the residence of the INEC Chairman in Bauchi.

“As such, the general public is hereby urged not to panic, while also disregarding the fake video and its malicious content,” he said.

Recall that on Saturday, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, also, denied the reports that the building, belonging to the chairman of the Commission in Bauchi State, was set ablaze.
INEC refuted the claim that building attacked by angry youths in Bauchi belongs to to its Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu
The Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, INEC, Rotimi Oyekanmi, said that Prof Mahmood Yakubu doesn't own any property in Bauchi or anywhere else around the world.
"This narrative is the latest in the series of desperate smear campaign efforts by mischief makers. The public should disregard it." The statement said.
