Emulate Christ, Anambra Police Boss Urges Citizens

Anambra state Police Commissioner, Echeng Echeng, has called on Christians in the state to emulate the virtue of Christ. The police boss gave the advise while felicitating with Christians as they celebrate Easter. 

According to CP Echeng, Christians in the state must adopt and emulate the selfless lifestyle of Jesus Christ as they join their kits and kilns around the world to mark his ascension. 

"As you mark the victorious death and resurrection of Christ, always remember that it is the price he paid for the redemption of mankind. Therefore, you must work for Peaceful co-existence among Nigerians, irrespective of their religious, political and socio-cultural leaning in consonance with the principles and teachings of Christ," he advised. 

Echeng also used the ocassion to assure the people of the state that his command has deployed its men and equipment to intensify routine patrols, improved operational positioning to protect lives and property in vulnerable areas, including major highways, places of worship, residential areas, recreation centres, motor parks, financial institutions, Government/Private Infrastructures and all places of public resort. 

The police, he assured, "will conduct themselves professionally in line with extant laws and standard best practices before, during and after the festival" as they collaborate with other security agencies and stakeholders within the state to provide adequate security and safety. 

He enjoined them to be security conscious, not forgetting to avail the police with useful information that will assist in effectively tracking down criminal elements in our society.
