Don't Truncate People’s Will in Adamawa-APC Warns PDP 

The opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, has warned the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, not to truncate the will of the people of the state over their choice of Senator Aishatu Dahiru (Binani) as the next governor of the state. 

The APC gave the warning in a statement made by its national publicity secretary, Felix Mirka, on Monday. 

Morka accused the incumbent governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and his party, the PDP, of attempting to truncate the people's mandate by storming the collation centre with heavily armed security personnel to disrupt the collation process and possibly influence the outcome of the election. 

According to the statement, Governor Fintiri and the PDP led heavily armed thugs and security personnel to the collation centre to cause a ruckus in order to put pressure on INEC and “prevail against the will of the people”.

“Election results show a clear and decisive victory for Senator Aishatu Dahiru (Binani), the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate.

“Faced with the imminent and certain prospect of loss in the election, thugs and political actors led by incumbent Governor, and Candidate of the PDP, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, have unleashed heavily armed thugs to disrupt further collation of result and subvert the will of Adamawa people as expressed at the polls.

"The Governor is reported to have torn result sheets at the collation centre in a show of unprecedented impunity and executive brigandage. The result of the election in the Fufore Local Government Area of the state must not be tampered with as Binani holds a clear, unassailable lead, only awaiting final collation and declaration by INEC.”
