Two Kids Stolen From Abia, Enugu Rescued In Bayelsa

Two children stolen from Abia and Enugu States, respectively have been discovered and rescued by the police operatives of the Gender Unit, State Criminal Investigation Department, of the Bayelsa State Police Command.

Two Kids Stolen From Abia, Enugu Rescued In Bayelsa
Two children stolen from Abia and Enugu States, respectively have been discovered and rescued by the police operatives of the Gender Unit, State Criminal Investigation Department, of the Bayelsa State Police Command.
The children were allegedly rescued from child traffickers from Abia and Enugu Stats after the police buusted the child trafficking ring.
The police gave out the identities of the victims as Success, a four year old female, and Prince, a two year old male child.
According to the police, the arrested suspected child traffickers are one Sunday Aniele, 22 year old and one Chioma Obi, a 24 year female, on June 19, 2023, at Igbogene,  Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The Police Public Relations Officer,  Bayelsa State Police Command, SP Asinim Butswat, said in a statement on Monday, that on their arrest, Chioma Obi, claimed to be a sister to Sunday Aniele, but took the children away under the guise of purchasing drugs for them, but unknown to their parents, the children were taken out of the State to an unknown destination. 
Butswat further explained after a diligent investigation by Police Operatives, crisscrossing Delta, Anambra, Enugu, and Abia States, Sunday Aniele and Chioma Obi were arrested at Ughelli, Delta State on 7th July 2023. 
The police spokesman said one Kingsley Chimobi, male and 28 years, and Harriet Chukwu, female and 36 years, were arrested at Onitsha, Anambra State on 10th July, 2023.
"Further investigation took the Police team to Enugu, where Success 'f' 4 years was recovered on 21st July 2023, and Abangwa, Abia State where Prince 'm' 2 years was recovered on 22 July 2023.
"The Suspects have admitted to collecting one million six hundred thousand Naira only, for the two children." The statement said.
Butswat said the Commissioner of Police Bayelsa State Command, CP Tolani Alausa, charged the investigating unit to conclude its investigation and Charge the suspects to court.
