FG Drops Old Charge, Files Fresh Ones Against Emefiele
Federal Government on Tuesday, filed new charges against the sacked Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, and withdrew the charge of illegal possession of firearms.

Director of Public Prosecutions, Federal Ministry of Justice, Mohammed Bakodo Abubakar, approached the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, and applied an oral application demanding for the withdrawal of the earlier charges.
The withdrawal of the initial charges came as the results of its new investigations allegedly exposed the ex-suspended bank Chief.
Abubakar explained that the fresh charges of 20 counts was preferred against Emefiele at the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday.
He disclosed this to journalists after the Tuesday's proceedings at the court premises
It would be recalled that Emefiele was on July 25, arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on “illegal possession of firearms” at a federal high court in Ikoyi, Lagos.
