The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command, on Wednesday, described as baseless, and unfounded the reports of kidnap and murder of the victims kidnapped in the Galadinma area of Abuja.
The police explained that the alleged Kidnapping of 19 individuals and the reported killing of 12 in Galadimawa, Abuja, as circulated in recent news, has undergone a thorough investigation by the FCT Police Command.
The Command said following a careful examination of the allegations, it was clearly established that these claims are false and misleading, showing an intention, either deliberately or not, to misguide and instill fear in the public.
The Police Public Relations Officer, FCT, SP Josephine Adeh, in a statement on Wednesday, titled: "ALLEGED KIDNAP, MURDER IN GALADIMAWA: FACTS ARE BASELESS, UNFOUNDED, INVESTIGATIONS REVEAL", explained that the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Haruna G. The statement urged the Galadinma residents to remain vigilant, adding that CP Haruna warned those spreading fake and baseless reports to desist from doing so.
He stressed that this misinformation only serves to distort the prevailing peace and tranquility enjoyed by the residents of FCT.
"The FCT Police Command remains steadfast in ensuring the safety and security of the public, and urge those spreading misleading information to team with the Command to reduce crime and criminality to the barest minimum
"The CP urges members of the  public to promptly report distress calls and complaints through the following emergency lines: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883. Additionally, the Public Complaint Bureau (PCB)." The statement said.
