Edo Police Takes Officers To Abuja For Running Vehicle On An Alleged Yahoo Boy

The Ag. Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, had condemned the disturbing incident.
The officers were captured on a viral video showing the manhandling of the citizen while trying to arrest him on allegations of internet fraud.
The IGP, however, summoned the officers to Abuja for further questioning.
Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement said a police team ran a vehicle over a citizen on Thursday June 29, 2023 at Ekpoma, Edo State, adding that the IGP had directed the erring policemen, to report to Abuja on Monday.
He explained that the officers have been in detention in Edo State, and are to report to the Force Headquarters Abuja on Monday for further action.
"Members of the public, particularly the people of Ekpoma, are implored to remain calm as the present leadership of the NPF will not condone such an act of unprofessionalism and illegality." He said.
